MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: FEBRUARY 5, 2013 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF CITY SURPLUS PROPERTY RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider a resolution declaring the property listed in "Attachment A" as surplus property and authorizes their sale through public auction. BACKGROUND: This request is to approve a resolution for the sale of surplus property as listed in Attachment A. The City currently has several vehicles and equipment ready for auction due to budgeted fleet replacements, equipment age or condition. Staff has considered age, mileage, cost of operation and/or life to date maintenance costs when classifying property as surplus. Staff recommends approval LW 1/29/2013 (2:45:24 �L..EIII :#„!'III RESOLUTION NO. ii A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY AS SURPLUS AND PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZATION TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY AT AUCTION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas is in possession of items that are no longer used and are of little or no value tot City as described in the list designated as "Attachment A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS.- Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That all items described in"Attachment A"to this resolution are hereby declared surplus property. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to schedule an auction for the purpose of offering for sale all items listed in "Attachment A" and to tint highest bid possible for these items.
