SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST CU08-01
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission accept the
applicant's request to table conditional use request CU08-01 to the March 18, 2008
meeting and take any other action necessary.
BACKGROUND:
The applicant, Mr. Bennett Westbrook, has submitted a conditional use request for the
Gaylord Texan to add a 12-story hotel expansion with 492 guestrooms and allow an
� expansion to the conference center of approximately 680,000 square feet with 435
additional parking spaces. In order to address comments from a neighborhood meeting
that was held at the Gaylord Texan on February 6, 2008 and finalize some design
elements relative to the expansion project the applicant has asked to table the request to
the March 18, 2008 meeting. See the attached letter.

Dear Ron,
We request that the upcoming Gaylord Texan expansion CUP review by the
Grapevine City Council scheduled on February 19"' be tabled until the Council's
March 18"' meeting. The purpose in seeking this postponement is the recent
realization that we need more time to finalize our project design and budget,
including our plans for the resort pool. We also want to take adequate time to
assess and incorporate the community comments we received at our well-
attended neighborhood meeting held at the Texan on February 6�n
