FUNDING SOURCE: The City of Grapevine's funding for this project in an amount of$72,740 is available in the Water PCMF, 200-43360-534-0. CDBG funding is estimated at$85,000 for this project and will be available in late summer 2008. By providing these funds, the City's CDBG application can potentially receive additional funding from the CDBG program. The City's current commitment to this project comprises 46% of the project budget. BACKGROUND: The scope of the project is the replacement of an existing old water line in Worth Street between Wood Street and Ruth Street. The estimated cost for this project is $157,740. Staff is unaware of the total funds that will be made available through this year's CDBG program. If CDBG funding plus the City funding match does not meet the cost of construction after the bid opening, the City will be allowed to fund the remainder of the cost, or the project may be reduced in scope. This area is located in the Original Town of Grapevine, CDBG Target Area, designated as census tract 1137.05/2 in the 2000 Census. These improvements will contribute to the upgrade of the area by providing an improved water supply system and fire protection. Staff recommends approval.
