WORKSHOP — UPDATE ON RELOCATION OF ELECTION
POLLING LOCATION
At the November 19, 2013 workshop, Staff provided information relative to temporarily
relocating the City's election polling location due to future construction and expansion of
the Community Activities Center. Safety hazards in the CAC construction area, potential
power interruptions and voter confusion were cited for relocating the election poll for the
upcoming 2014 elections.
Numerous buildings throughout the City were considered based on accessibility, central
location, and impact to programs, revenues and visitors. During the workshop, Council
requested Staff review the use of the Library Program Room or the Convention Center
as the temporary election polling location during the CAC improvements.
Due to scheduled programming and events in the Library Program Room, the
Convention and Visitors Bureau has offered a room at the Convention Center for use as
a temporary election polling location during the 2014 election year.
