SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ADOPT -AN -AREA AGREEMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend the Council approve Adopt -
An -Area agreements with the following groups. Copies of the agreements are attached for
review.
• Boy Scouts of America — Troop 4 for Hall- Johnson Road, from Parr Road to Pool
Road
• Nichols /Carpenter Family for the shoreline from Dove Loop Boat Ramp west to
McPherson Slough
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt -An -Area signage would be placed at both ends of these areas. The total cost of the
signage for this is approximately $150 and will come from the Grounds Maintenance
Account 100 - 42205 - 312 -3.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The proposed agreements are for a period of two years and require the applicants to pick
up litter a minimum of six times per year. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
approved the agreement at their November 21, 2013 meeting. The Board and staff
recommend approval of the agreement.
