SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST
FOR QUOTE FOR ASBESTOS ABATEMENT FOR THE
BUILDING LOCATED AT 815 SOUTH MAIN STREET (FUTURE
TEXRAIL STATION SITE)
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for
asbestos abatement for the building located at 815 South Main Street (future TexRail
station site) from Pacific Environmental Group, LLC.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in 122-48810-415-17-0001-8 (Land
Improvements) for an amount not to exceed $32,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
In anticipation of the January demolition of the former American Locker Group building at
815 South Main Street for the TexRail station, an asbestos survey was required. As is
common for buildings of that age, asbestos was discovered and abatement is required
prior to demolition.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the city purchasing policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under$50,000.00. Three quotes were
submitted as noted below. Pacific Environmental Group, LLC. submitted the lowest quote
meeting specifications.
Pacific Environmental Group, LLC. $32,000.00
HP EnviroVision $33,639.00
1 Priority Environmental Services, Inc. $57,197.00
Staff recommends approval.
