The Library Board of the Gra evine Public Library of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in
Regular Session on the 20 h day of January, 2014 at 6:30PM in the Board Room,
Grapevine Public Library, 1201 Municipal Way, with the following members presentto-wit;

CALL TO ORDER
Janice Cook called the meeting to order at 6:30PM.
Citizen Comments — None
Motion by Bruce Rider, seconded by Fred Sheffler, to approve the October 21, 2013
minutes as written prevailed by the following vote_:
Ayes: Unanimous
Nays: None.
Update on the Library Remodeling Project
The remodeling project's schedule has been delayed as the contract awaits to be
signed. (Some legal details still need to be handled with the architect's contract_)
There was no formal action taken.
Discussion on Change in Services
The non-smoking policy at the library has been updated to include "e -cigarettes".
Proctoring examinations will cease as of February 15t.
There was no formal action taken.
Discussion of the Texas State Library Appeal to IMLS
The Institute of Museum & Library Services (a federal organization) has provided a
restoration of $6.75M to state funds for the Texas State Library. The appeal was won due
in large part to the efforts of Mark Smith, Texas State Library and Archives Director_
There was no formal action taken.

The next quarterly board meeting is scheduled for April 21, 2014 at 6:30PM.
