Grapefest Golf Tournament — John Springer 3. Grapefest Booth 4. Golf Course Lessons and Clinic Schedule — Russell Pulley 5. Senior Play Day Update — Russell Pulley 6. Update from Merlin Tielkemeier on the course maintenance. CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES Consider approval of the minutes of the January 19, 2012 meeting and take any necessary action. Isbell ' olf Board Sec. r ary CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no Citizens in attendance that wished to address the Golf Advisory Board, but there were two emails that were handed out to the Board. ITEM I — GOLF COURSE WEBSITE OVERVIEW Russell Pulley reported that he had been looking at lots of different website, prior to proceeding with Coursetrends. The Golf Department under the City of Grapevine website, now will take them to our website. Tom Kormondy stated that it looked very professional and Russell stated we are still working on it. ITEM 2- GRAPEFEST GOLF TOURNAMENT John Springer will again be the Chairman for the Grapefest Golf Tournament that will be held in September. Gary Davis and Shelly Ruddick will be on the committee. Every Golf Advisory Board member should put a team together and bring to the next meeting. ITEM 3 — GRAPEFEST BOOTH Shelley Ruddick and Tom Kormondy will Co -Chair the Grapefest Booth. Mike Lease and John . McGrane stated that they will talk with Southwest Greens in regards to the booth, ITEM 4— GOLF COURSE LESSONS AND CLINIC SCHEDULE Russell Pulley reported that more activities are being created to encourage people to come out and play golf again. He stated that a discount on three lessons is being offered. (3 lessons for the STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE • The Golf Course Advisory Board of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular session on this 19th day of April 2012 at 5:17 p.m. at the Grapevine Golf Course, 3800 Fairway Drive, with the following members present: Gary Davis Member Elbridge Christison Member Danny Langley Member Doug DeWaters Member Tom Kormondy Member Jonathan Wall Member Dan Driscoll Member John Spring Member Shelley Ruddick Member Absent: Constituting a quorum, with the following members of the City Staff: Russell Pulley Director of Golf John McGrane Director of Administrative Services Mike Lease City Council Member Michelle J Isbell Pro Shop Coordinator Merlin Tielkemeier Superintendent • CALL TO ORDER Danny Langley called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no Citizens in attendance that wished to address the Golf Advisory Board, but there were two emails that were handed out to the Board. (3 lessons for the price of 2) Junior Clinics are being offered during the summer as well as the Free Jr. Golf on Tuesday that will begin in June. ITEM 5- SENIOR PLAY DAY UPDATE Russell reported that we have started a Senior League on the 1" and 3rd Tuesday of the month for participants aged 60 and over. The fee is $38.00 per golf which covers the green fee, cart fee and entry fee. ITEM 6- UPDATE FROM MERLIN TIELKEMEIER ON THE COURSE MAINTENANCE Merlin Tielkemeier updated the Board on the maintenance that is being done on the course. He stated that they were further along than normal due to the spring weather. There are plans to change how the aerifying is being done and a change in the fertilizing program. The native areas still have to be maintained as well as cleaning them up to look like they should. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES Doug DeWaters made the motion to approve the January minutes and was seconded by Tom Kormondy. ADJOURNMENT The motion to adjourn was made by John Springer and a second was made by Tom Kormondy. .
