SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST
FOR QUOTE FOR PLEASANT GLADE POOL RESURFACING
AND INSTALLATION OF LED LIGHTING
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for
Pleasant Glade pool resurfacing and installation of LED lighting from Aloha Pool Service.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in 174-74015-312-070 (Park Maintenance
Projects) for an amount not to exceed $39,906.00.
BACKGROUND:
The Pleasant Glade competition pool has not been replastered since it opened in 1998.
There are multiple areas where the plaster has become damaged beyond repair and even
areas where the rebar rust is beginning to show through the compromised plaster flooring.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000.00. Three quotes were
submitted as noted below. Aloha Pool Service submitted the lowest responsive and
responsible quote.
Aloha Pool Service $39,906.00
Grapevine Pool & Spa $48,849.00
Sunbelt Pools $75,000.00
Staff recommends approval.
