GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
UR THE CITY MANAGEftS' DESIGNEE TO APPRQVE A
SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR INTERNET SERVICES
ANQ PRQVIDING AN EFFECTIVE QATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the S#ate of
Texas and as such is empowered by Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, §252.022. General Exemptions {a) {7) {A}to contract for intemet senrices
on a sole source basis; and
WHEREAS, The City of Grapevine, Texas has a need for internet services for the
Public Safety building; and
WHEREAS, Frontier Communications is the only vendor that can provide these
services; and
WHEREAS, all constitutional and statutory prerequisites for the approval of this
resolution have been met, including but not limited to the Open Meetings Act; and
V1IHEREAS, the Cit}r Council deems the adoption of this resolution to be in the best
interests af the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated hereinabove are found to be true and correct
and are incorparated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the
purchase for intemet services with Frontier Communications for an amaunt not to exceed
$40,877.69.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to take all steps
necessary to contract for said senrices.
Section 4. That this resolu#ion shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of February, 2017.
