A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A
MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (TXDOT)
FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF STATE
HIGHWAY FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas (City) has requested TxDOT, (The State)
to assist in the operation and maintenance of State Highways within and through the City;
and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director, acting for and in behalf of the Texas
Transportation Commission, has made it known to the City that the State will assist the
City in the maintenance and operation of the State Highways within the City, conditioned
that the City will enter into agreements with the State for the purpose of determining the
responsibilities of the parties thereto; and
WHEREAS, all constitutional and statutory prerequisites for the approval of this
resolution have been met, including but not limited to the Open Meetings Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the adoption of this resolution is in the best
interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the public; and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated herein above are true and correct and are
incorporated herein by reference, as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas authorizes the
City Manager to execute a municipal maintenance agreement with TxDOT for the
operation and maintenance of State Highway 26, FM 2499, State Highway 114, State
Highway 121, State Highway 360, and Interstate Highway 635.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of February, 2017.
