SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SOLE SOURCE
PURCHASE OF A LIFT STATION AT MEADOWMERE PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution for a sole source purchase of a lift station
at Meadowmere Park from Environments Improvements, Inc.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is available in account 119-48860-312-7 (Machinery, Equipment
Meadowmere) in the amount not to exceed $23,378.30.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase request is for a new lift station at Meadowmere Park which will handle the
new gatehouse, old restroom, four host sites and the new rental building. This lift station
will replace one that was damaged in the flood.
The procurement of a lift station will be made as a sole source purchase from
Environments Improvements, Inc. in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter
252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (a) (7) (A).
Staff recommends approval.

RESOLUTION NO. 2017-041
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE A
LIFT STATION FROM A SOLE SOURCE VENDOR AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of
Texas and as such is empowered by Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (a) (7) (A) to purchase a lift station on a
sole source basis; and
WHEREAS, The City has a need for a new lift station at Meadowmere Park; and
WHEREAS, Environments Improvements, Inc. is the sole source provider for lift
stations that meet city requirements;
WHEREAS, all constitutional and statutory prerequisites for the approval of this
resolution have been met, including but not limited to the Open Meetings Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the adoption of this resolution to be in the best
interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated hereinabove are found to be true and correct
and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the sole
source purchase of a lift station at Meadowmere Park from Environments Improvements,
Inc. for an amount not to exceed $23,378.30.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said stations.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
