CALL TO ORDER Chairman Curtis Ratliff called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. IL CIT!AEN COMMENTS Beth McReynolds, 1130 South Pine Street, Bellaire Addition, Grapevine, TX 76051 Ill.APPROVAL OF MINUTES Don Vaughn made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the February 18, 2015 meeting; Melva Stanfield seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Stinson, Bannister Franks, Hewlett, Jensen, Perkins and Vaughn) Nays: (None) Absent: (Hewlett and Jensen) 1 18 March 2015 18 March 2015 IV. OLD BUSINESS Janet Perkins reported the Foundation's membership renewals have continued to increase with the membership now at 183 active members. Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield gave the Nash Farm report for the month with five interpretive programs and 232 attending, bringing the fiscal year to date at 61$ participants. Farm Manager Jim Lauderdale reported the Spring Into Nash (SPIN)steering committee was meeting and planning for the tasks needed for each activity. There is now a new activity map for the event designed with a bird's eye view to locate each activity. At this time the ponies, petting zoo, Southwest Dairy and several plein air artists have confirmed; as a new attraction, the Denton County Tractor Club will be displaying several antique tractors. Save the date cards have been mailed out to the membership and a stack was given to each board member to distribute. Staff reported on the Preservation Advocacy Awards and noted the article written by Marty Sabota for the Grapevine Courier, Melva said it was also printed in the Southlake newspaper. Janet Perkins discussed the need to update the different membership levels for the six— 17 age group level keeping the current "Sprouts" level for children under six years old. Ross Bannister suggested a "Farm Boy and Farm Girl" level to go along with the current storied programs. Melva asked the Membership Committee to move forward to develop the concept for the annual calendar proposed by staff member Sharon Heard-Cross. The calendar itself would be a tangible benefit for renewals and new memberships; she suggested it should speak advocacy for the Foundation, listing inside the current board members, monies brought in, farm programs, the Palace Arts Center and Christmas Parade; with no advertising, but to list donors_ Janet Perkins announced for the first time in five years, a grant matching program with a value up to $350,000. Funds for the Farm could be sought to record their programs to use online and train volunteers or to relate to an "ap" (application)to tour the Farm. Ross Bannister made the motion for Janet Perkins to pursue the National Endowment for the Humanities Grant monies; Don Vaughn seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Stinson, Bannister Franks, Perkins and Vaughn) Nays: (None Absent: (Hewlett and Jensen) Ross Bannister proposed the board consider additional event signage for the northeast comer of the Farm at Ball Street and Homestead Drive to identify the Farm and upcoming events for northbound traffic; to match the existing signage at the comer of Bali and College Streets. Ross Bannister made the motion to approve a second Nash Farm coming events sign at Bail Street and Homestead Drive; Melva Stanfield seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Stinson, Bannister Franks, Perkins and Vaughn) Nays: (None Absent: (Hewlett and Jensen) 2 18 March 2015 18 March 2415 V. DISTRIBUTION OF LIAISON REPORTS Grapevine Historical Society Liaison Report-Joe Ann Standlee, President President Joe Ann Standlee reported the new museum was doing well with good attendance. She gave a newsletter to each of the board members and invited all to attend their monthly programs at the library. Grapevine Convention&Visitors Bureau Liaison Report-Paul W. McCallum P.W. McCallum said he would report as topics were needed. Grapevine Convention&Visitors Bureau Advisory Board Report-Balla Wright Balla Wright reported on the status of future business booked at the Palace Arts Center; the third phase of the casting of the unicorn to be completed by May 2015 for mounting atop the CVB; touring train ticket pricing; the coming Tex Rail; and the need for security cameras at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, Grapevine-Historic Preservation Commission-Ross Bannister Ross Bannister reported there were 10 staff approved Certificates of Appropriateness; cases were heard for N2 BBQ on Dallas Road; a garage on East Wall Street; a Cameron infill home on East Worth Street and comments on the good sales and amounts in the Historic Township, with one home selling within four hours of flitting the market.
