Adjournment The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation will be held on July 20, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. David Klempin Manager, Heritage Programs & Preservation June 15, 2016 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Grapevine Heritage Foundation Board of Directors met at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051. With the following city staff present: Paul W. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Curtis Ratliff called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. II. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were NO citizen comments. Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Historic Preservation Commission under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Commission is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. 15 June 2016 June 15, 2016 III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Janet Perkins made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the April 20, 2016 meeting; Sue Franks seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Wright, Franks, Jensen, Perkins, Stinson and Vaughn) Nays: None Absent: (Stanfield) IV. OLD BUSINESS Janet Perkins reported the Foundation currently has 185 active memberships, with three renewals billed in May; donations were received of $1,144 and a June donation of $1,500 was received from Tommy Simmons. Chairman Ratliff gave the Nash Farm report; he thanked the board for their sponsorships and Treasurer Balla Wright for her success in securing sponsorships making the Spring Into Nash event a financial success. NEW BUSINESS Nash Farm Manager Cody Joliff(attending the ALHFAM conference) had prepared an update of the Farm activities for the meeting. He reported the kitchen garden was up and producing well and the four month old Iamb had aced his check-up with the vet last week, weighing in at 57 pounds. The Farm's staff is making an effort to have the Farmhouse open this summer on Thursdays and Fridays. Participants at the Canning Workshop canned stewed tomatoes, strawberry preserves and pickled carrots. The Farm has a new intern, for the summer, working on projects with historic newspapers, the windmill and assorted farm chores. Staff projects include a compost bin, chicken coop cleanup and a new chicken tractor, just in time for the arrival of the new chicks. Plus a new Victorian style clothesline has been added to the back lawn to better accommodate a classroom of kids all washing clothes at one time. A staff breakfast for members of the CVB Sales, Marketing and Media teams was held on Friday to become more familiar with the Farm and brainstorm new ideas to better market this fun and educational venue. The 2017 Foundation events calendar was discussed to schedule a committee meeting; Janet Perkins, Balla Wright and Don Vaughn agreed to work on this. VI. LIAISON REPORTS Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) May 19, 2016 Meeting — Janet Perkins reported on the meeting's discussion of the Be the Dinosaur exhibit, the upcoming Travel Media Showcase and the wrap-up report for Main Street Fest and the Duke's appearances. 2 15 June 2016 June 15, 2016 Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) May 25, 2016 Meeting — Curtis Ratliff reported on the commission's approving the Neal Cooper of Copper Street Homes plans for 626 Wall Street; he noted the diligence from all to keep these home's period correct. There would be four cases for Historic Landmarking going before City Council for approval this month. Grapevine Historical Society (GHS) May 23, 2016 Meeting - Sue Franks reported the "Memorial Day Patriotic Musical Tribute" by the Grapevine Senior Choir was a great meeting with a very patriotic performance. VL ADJOURNMENT Pat Stinson, seconded by Balla Wright, made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Wright, Franks, Jensen, Perkins, Stinson and Vaughn) Nays: None Absent: (Stanfield) PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE GRAPEVINE HERITAGE FOUNDATION, THE JUNE 15, 2016 MINUTES, ON THIS THE 20TH DAY OF JULY 2016.
