OLD BUSINESS Nash Farm Manager Jim Lauderdale reported the 2015 event schedule. Board members were asked to be responsible for registering attendees at the Nash Farm Farm House on the Grape Vine Prairie programs; a sign-up sheet was passed around. The Texas Living History Association Conference will be hosted by Dallas Heritage Village on January 23—25, 2015. Board members were encouraged to attend this local conference. As part of the conference, a tour of Nash Farm on Friday, January 23 from 10 a.m. — 12 noon will be available for attendees. The November 8, Candlelight Tour of Homes event was a great success due to the tour's home owners and the blessing of perfect weather. Total attendance was 510 visitors yielding $5,100, twice the attendance of the 2013 event. Online pre-sales sold 232 tickets. Profits are planned to be reinvested to upgrade the tour's banners. V. NEW BUSINESS Chairman Curtis Ratliff reported on the National Trust Conference in Savannah. The group attending had discussed new ideas to advocate for preservation. Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield was impressed with the Savannah Railroad District as a large area with long term project investments. Its areas had been changed to children's play areas with no plastic and a huge train maze. She noted the need to explain preservation to excite all and bring in new families. Chairman Ratliff agreed saying much was due to the Savannah College of Art & Design; David Klempin added the college had given a major push for restoring and saving Mid- Century design. P.W. McCallum noted the tax base of Grapevine versus Savannah saying rarely a property tax method to collect funds. He did note as we have very few buildings, this could be attainable; with 14,000 buildings only 1,200 buildings are over 50 years old. Chairman Ratliff asked the Foundation board to take a more active role as advocates for preservation and to be prepared to discuss at the January meeting. Vl. DISTRIBUTION OF LIAISON REPORTS Grapevine Historical Society Liaison Report-Joe Ann Standlee, President Joe Ann Standlee reported the Grapevine Historical Society had had their Grand Opening on November 15 in the Grapevine Ice Company building.
