Call to Order — Dr. Curtis Ratliff II. Citizen Comments Ill. Consider the Preservation Advocacy Committee's recommendations for the 2014 Grapevine Heritage Foundation Preservation Advocacy Awards. IV. Consider an update to the bylaws of Council resolutions. V. Adjournment The next regular meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation will be held on May 21, 2014. Acts of the 1993 Texas Legislature, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Board meeting agenda was prepared and posted on this, the 22nd day of April 2014 at 5:00 pm. r David Klempin Manager, Heritage Programs & Preservation GI-IF Meeting 04.25.14 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Grapevine Heritage Foundation Board of Directors met in a posted Special Called Meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2014 in the Grapevine Convention&Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. Curtis Ratliff Chairman Balla Wright Treasurer Pat Stinson Secretary Sue Franks Member Rick Lawlis Member Janet Perkins Member Mike Lease City Council Liaison The above constituting a quorum with member(s) absent: Melva Stanfield, Ron Hewlett, Frances Jensen and Don Vaughn. With the following city staff present: David Klempin Historic Preservation Officer Mary Bush Administrative I. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Curtis Ratliff called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II.CITIZEN COMMENTS None III. 2014 PRESERVATION ADVOCACY AWARDS David Klempin reminded all May is National Preservation Month and introduced the Chairman's ad hoc Preservation Advocacy Committee's nominations and recommendations. The following nominees were presented for the board's consideration: Advocacy Award Mary Cal Yates Johnson Preserving &Sharing Heritage Furniture to teach Grapevine's Culture Preservation/Conservation Eric F. Legge, H.H. Yancy Farmhouse, c.1898 1331 West Walt Street Restoration Project Aaron& Rachel Lucht, W.D. Deacon House,c.1915 204 South Dooley Street 1 April 25.2014 GHF Meeting 04.25.14 Infill Construction Jay Balding Balding House, c. 2012 840 East Worth Street Rehabilitation Project Howard 8 Nancy Walfield Lucas-Deacon-Walfield House, c. 1939 512 West College Street Chairman Ratliff agreed all five houses were excellent choices for awards. Sue Franks put forth the motion to accept the homes for awards as presented; Pat Stinson seconded the motion. The following vote prevailed: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Wright, Stinson. Franks, Lawlis, Perkins and Lease) Nays: None Absent: (Stanfield, Hewlett Jensen and Don Vaughn) IV. COUNCIL RESOLUTIONS TO THE GHF BYLAWS David Klempin presented the updated copy of the bylaws as currently written in black ink with updates of seven City Council Resolutions as written in blue ink and resolution numbers and dates in red ink. Chairman Ratliff reminded all, City Council decisions supersede all, and the updates to the bylaws, as presented,were simply a matter of housekeeping. Janet Perkins put forth the motion to accept the updated bylaws as presented; Balla Wright seconded the motion. The following vote prevailed: Ayes: All (Ratliff,Wright, Stinson. Franks, Lawlis, Perkins and Lease) Nays: None Absent: (Stanfield, Hewlett Jensen and Don Vaughn) V.ADJOURNMENT Pat Stinson, seconded by Balla Wright, offered a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:10 p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Ail (Ratliff, Stanfield,Wright, Stinson. Franks, Hewlett, Lawlis) Nays: None Absent: (Jensen, Lease, Perkins and Vaughn) FOLLOW UP: The approved update of the bylaws was signed by the Chairman of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation, Dr. Curtis Ratliff; presented to the City Attorney and filed with the City Secretary's Office or2Nr27d9,14.
