Dorothy Kritz was recognized and welcomed to the board. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The Appreciation Luncheon was discussed. It was decided to have it at Logan's Roadhouse. The Mayor, City Manager, Assistant City Manager, City Council members and all previous Senior Council and present Board members, and all spouses will be invited. The luncheon will be held on December 1, 2000 at 1:30 P.M. We had a choice of dessert and apple cobbler was chosen. Jennifer will make certificates for the previous Senior Council members. Miriam will work with Linda Gregory to get together the names of those to be invited and mail the invitations. Roger Nelson brought a chart showing the placing of sidewalks and the widening of Church St. which he explained to us. Edith brought up the senior housing problem. The need is for smaller homes so seniors could sell their big homes, which they no longer need and oftentimes can not take care of any more. In December, Debra Wells, manager of the Hud Housing will be invited to the meeting to give us an update on the Hud Housing. Jan,the woman who is going to build senior housing on Glade Rd. will be invited to speak at the January meeting. Irvin brought up the problem of lumber trucks parking staggered on opposite sides of Dooley Street. Roger Nelson said that both the street and the railroad tracks will be reconstructed. In the meantime, he suggested that someone speak to the lumber company about the problem as they may not be aware of it. The transportation problem that Jennifer and Linda have been working on is on hold right now waiting for answers to some legal and insurance questions. • Tricia asked about working on various projects with other cities. Edith explained that we have had representatives from other cities and organizations to speak to us and we discussed projects that both of us were working on. The next meeting will be held December 1, 2000 at 2 P.M. following the luncheon at Logans Steakhouse. The meeting was adjourned at 3 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Miriam A. Bahner Secretary
