GRAPEVINE SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD
April 6, 2001
The Grapevine Senior Citizens Advisory Board met on April 6, 2001 at 2 P.M. at the
Grapevine City Hall.
The following were present:
Edith Pewitt —Chair Irvin Bowling
Lloyd Latta - Vice Chair Harlan Jewett
Miriam Bahner— Secretary Dorothy Kritz
Edith welcomed the guests that were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were considered and approved.
Lew Anderton, the scheduled speaker, was unable to attend.
We had an update on the Senior Fair plans.
Linda has confirmed the following entertainment:
The Grapevine Senior Chorus
The Dancing Dames
tor The Keller Kitchen Band
Miss Senior Mature Irving
Linda also said that the Visitors Information Center will supply goodie bags.
Clydene has called the following:
The Convention and Visitors Bureau
Brookhollow Manor
Atria
Woodridge
None of these are confirmed so Miriam will follow-up with a phone call.
Jennifer has confirmed that the First Baptist Church senior quartet will sing.
She is also taking care of the signs, door prizes, mailout to seniors and publicity.
Miriam has sent letters to the organizations and council members. She will follow-up
with phone calls to any who have not confirmed their attendance yet.
Bernice Hatcher and Mary Louise Spangler have both agreed to be the pianists.
Edith suggested that we invite the Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Division of
the Chamber also. Miriam will take care of that.
All the performers have been asked to do two numbers.
Linda reported that the Senior Movers Program will be starting on Monday, April 9t.
Vanessa McCauley will be starting on Monday as the Transportation Coordinator. She
will be going to churches, schools, etc. to get volunteer drivers. The forms needed for
this program are ready and at the Grapevine Senior Center. There is a phone line
designated for the program. The number is 817-410-RIDE.
Lew Anderton will be rescheduled for May and also the Grapevine Traffic Engineer and
Venessa McCauley will be there.
The next meeting will be held on Friday, May 4, 2001 at 2 P.M. at the Grapevine Senior
Activities Center.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:50 P.M.
