The following members were present: Edith Pewitt —Chair Harlan Jewett Lloyd Latta - Vice Chair Dorothy Kritz Miriam Bahner— Secretary Edith welcomed those in attendance and introduced Lisa Gossette. The minutes of the previous meeting were considered and approved. Vanessa McCauley gave an update on the Senior Movers Program. Brochures and applications are ready and available at the Senior Center. She has 7 volunteers so far but she needs 50. She is contacting various clubs seeking volunteers. Edith mentioned the following organizations to contact: Bay View Club Garden Club—Edith will contact these members (111r 36 Club Airline Pilots Tuesday Study Club Flight Attendants Ambucs Methodist Church adult Sunday School classes Lions Club Edith will contact these classes Rotary Club Chamber of Commerce and Women's Division Venessa was also given the names of the contact person for the various organizations. Debra Wells was out of town but will be at the July meeting. Lisa Gossette from Grace discussed the Food Stamp Application Procedures. She said that food stamps are based on the amount of income coming into the home. If approved, the stamps will pay for your food at the grocery store. You must fill out an application and take it in to the Food Stamp Office in Fort Worth or the Catholic Charities on Brown Trail. Catholic Charities will help you fill out the application and go to your interview in Fort Worth. You must show proof of all your income and financial obligations. You must verify your financial status every three months. Human Services might send someone out to the Senior Center to discuss the procedures with the seniors. There is also a possibility of putting flyers about the program in the water and sewer bills. Linda announced Camp Wrinkle Ranch which will start June 4th and she also explained (kw Granny's Attic which will be held in Fort Worth. . • Ramana Chinnakotla, Traffic Engineer will be back at the next meeting in July. The next meeting will be held on July 6, 2001 at 2 P.M. at the Grapevine Senior Activities Center. The meeting was adjourned at 3 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Miriam A. Bahner Secretary
