GRAPEVINE SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD
October 5, 2001
The Grapevine Senior Citizens Advisory Board met on October 5, 2001 at 2 P.M. at the
Grapevine Senior Activities Center.
The following members were present:
Edith Pewitt —Chair Dorothy Kritz
Miriam Bahner - Secretary Doris Waite
Irvin Bowling Trisha Wood
Edith introduced and welcomed the following:
Linda Gregory
Jennifer Hibbs
The minutes of the previous meeting were considered and approved.
Linda Gregory gave a report on the Senior Movers Program. She said that there are 45 riders
and 6 new riders. Twenty four of these are out of town. There are 15 drivers and 1 new driver.
There are not enough drivers to handle all the riders, which means some have to be turned down
at times.
(ir Linda also reported that the Police Department is working to increase signage on Wall Street as
discussed in a previous meeting.
There was a brief discussion on the Senior Forum to be held in spring. Linda will ask Eileen to
approach the Ambassadors to see if someone would come to our November meeting to discuss
the possibility of them coming to do their program at the Senior Forum.
Joe Moore, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, will be at our December meeting to
discuss the Keep Grapevine Beautiful program.
New Business:
Edith asked for nominations for the officers of the Board to serve for the following year.
The following were nominated:
Chair: Edith Pewitt
Vice Chair: Irvin Bowling
Secretary: Miriam Bahner
The nominations were closed
The nominees were declared elected
, Trisha said that she was willing to direct volunteers who come to Grace, to volunteer as drivers
for the Senior Movers Program.
The next meeting will be held on November 2, 2001 at 2 P.M. at the Grapevine Senior Activities
Center
The meeting was adjourned at 2:50 P.M.
