Roy Stewart asked to update the Board on the City's Facilities meeting regarding the renovations and maintenance needs of the SAC. This is the first renovation made to the center since 2000. All the work will be contained inside the building; none on the outside at this time. The paint was selected to be used on the doors and wood trim. All the existing rubber base molding will be replaced with one uniform color. The colors will match the tile; the doors and door frames will be painted maroon and the walls will remain a basic brown that coordinates with the existing floor tiles. Hard surface countertops in the bathroom and kitchen island will be replaced. Molded sinks will be installed. Roy commented that a chair rail might help protect the walls as they get scarred by equipment, walkers, wheelchairs, and other objects. The work should start soon as it has been placed within the City's 2009 budget. With these improvements, the goal is to change from wallpapered walls to textured and painted walls. e. Board Chairman Dick Guckel commented that the concern he voiced last month about the fact that the SAC was not very visible on the City's website has been addressed by the City and that the results are very positive. 6.
