SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST
FOR QUOTE TO PURCHASE COMPUTER RELATED
EQUIPMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote to
purchase computer related equipment from Wholesale PC Motherboard Co.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase are available in accounts 177-42281-101-020-PSEQP-02 (Minor
Tools and Apparatus) 100-42210-101-2, (Computer Equipment & Supplies), 200-42210-
533-1 (Computer Equipment & Supplies) and 100-42281-210-3 (Apparatus and Tools)
for an amount not to exceed $28,295.00.
BACKGROUND:
The City is purchasing six PCs for the jail control room of the new Public Safety Building.
The specifications required dual network interface cards with specific graphics cards to
control multiple monitors. The City is also purchasing 17 computers to be used by Police
and Fire Administration, and one HP Designjet Plotter Printer for the GIS Department in
the new Public Safety Building.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Vendors submitted
quotations for various computer related equipment with Wholesale PC Motherboard Co.
submitting the lowest responsive and responsible quotes meeting specifications for all
items.
Staff recommends approval.
