HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 09 - Community Outreach Center MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 5, 2017 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF RFQ 447-2017 NEEDS ASSESSMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH CENTER RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of Request for Qualifications 447-2017 for a needs assessment for the Community Outreach Center to Barker Rinker Seacat, FUNDING SOURCE: Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 121-48840-209-00-170002 (Buildings) for the amount estimated at $38,320.00. BACKGROUND: Four firms submitted qualifications: Barker Rinker Seacat 5G Studio Collaborative Huitt-Zollars PGAL The purpose of the project is to have experts in design conduct a professional survey of the space needs and gain a better understanding of how a permanent structure could accommodate the current programs while leaving space for future expanded services at the Community Outreach Center. The selection committee conducted interviews and reviewed the work experience of each of the four architectural firms. The selection committee noted that the City of Grapevine has had a working history with the firm of Barker Rinker Seacat which designed The REC. After scoring each firm on the grading matrix, the committee selected Barker Rinker Seacat. This project was funded as a part of the Quality of Life Five Year Capital Plan. Request for Qualifications was solicited in accordance with Texas Government Code Chapter 2254.004. The RFQ was issued on May 10, 2017 and closed on May 31, 2017. Staff recommends approval.
