SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR POLICE
UNIFORM CLEANING SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval to renew an annual contract for police uniform cleaning
services to Grapevine Cleaners.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 117-42220-209-2 (Clothing
Supplies) for an annual estimated budgeted amount of $40,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
The Police Department requires a single annual contract provider to clean department
issued uniforms.
Best Value Bids were solicited beginning June 23, 2016 with a bid closing date of August 5,
2016 at 2 pm. There were 21 vendors electronically notified of the bid through the eBid
system. Two vendors submitted bids. This was for an annual contract with two, one-year
optional renewals. If approved, this will be for the first renewal available.
Staff recommends approval.
