ADJOURNMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS MEET- ING AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 23RD DAY OF JUNE, 1981 AT 3:00 P.M. City Sec rA k -a STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Regular Session on this the lst day of July, 1981 in the Conference Room, 413 Main Street, with the following persons present to -wit: James Buckner Jesse Woods Gerald Thompson Charles Cox Rickey Wright Chairman Vice -Chairman Member Member 2nd Alternate constituting a quorum with Member Doug Lamb and lst Alter- nate Jerry Spencer absent, with the following members of the City Staff: Marc Guy City Planner Sue Sanders Building Official Shirley Armstrong City Secretary CALL TO ORDER Chairman James Buckner called the meeting to order. OATH OF TRUTH The Oath of Truth was then administered to applicant Glen Alford and guest, Glenda Kirkland. Mr. Buckner began the hearing by explaining that the appli- cant had requested a thirteen foot variance in the thirty foot front yard requirement, which had been violated by the construction of a garage. The property in question was identified as being Tract 2 of the H. J. Harper Addition, or 2925 Kimbell Road. Building Official Sue Sanders advised that a building permit had not been taken out on the project until near completion. A lengthy discussion ensued during which the terrain and shape of the property in question were discussed. Mrs. Sanders provided the Committee with a copy of the original site plan on which the building permit for construction of the house was applied. City Planner, Marc Guy, advised that he was not in receipt of any correspondence either for or against the application. Following a discussion relative to the unusual circumstances of the case, Member Charles Cox made a motion to grant the application as requested. The motion was seconded by Rickey Wright and prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Buckner, Woods, Wright, Thompson, & Cox Nays : None Absent: Lamb & Spencer MISCELLANEOUS DISCUSSION Member Gerald Thompson suggested that some consideration be given to fining violators in lieu of simply granting the re- quest for a variance once the structure was completed. Member Jesse Woods suggested that a topography of the area be required with an application if the terrain is a major factor. He also suggested that a method of ascertaining whether or not the structure is being built in accordance with the site plan be determined by the Building Inspection Department. CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES A draft of the minutes of June 4, 1981wasthen reviewed. The Secretary advised that a final copy of the minutes would be presented at the next meeting for consideration. No for- mal action was taken. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Board of Zoning Adjustments, Member Charles Cox made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Member Jesse Woods and prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Buckner, Woods, Wright, Thompson, and Cox Nays : None Absent: Lamb & Spencer PASSED AND APPROVED on this the day of z��Iwz 01 1981. 41 ....• :} U, Chairman ATTEST:
