ADJOURNMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS MEETING AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 13TH DAY OF MAY, 1977 AT 10:30 A.M. Shirley Arms rong City Secret y RM MAY 19, 1977 PRESENT Jesse Woods, Jerry Spencer, James Buckner and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fleegle Conrad Heede arrived late. CITY STAFF MEMBERS Joe Lipscomb Board member Jerry Spencer opened the meeting and nominated Jesse Woods as Vice chairman to preside in the absence of Chairman Harper. The motion was seconded by Conrad Heede. Ayes: Spencer, Heede and Buckner Nays: None The next order of business was consideration of BZA Application 77-4 submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fleegle. The nature of the variance was explained by Building Official Joe Lipscomb. Mr. and Mrs. Fleegle then explained that they wanted to delete the requested fence in the front yard and connect the northwest corner of the house to the existing garden fence.- They also explained that they intended to connect to their neighbor's fence at a point where it would be 4 foot 6 inches high somewhere west of their southeast property corner. A somewhat complex discussion of the application followed. Conrad Heede made a motion to approve BZA Application 77-4 to construct a chain link fence approximately 4 foot 6 inches on the east property line, as shown on the exhibit, with the modification that the fence would connect to the northeast corner of the house instead of across the front yard. The motion was seconded by James Buckner. Ayes: Woods, Heede, Buckner and Spencer Nays: None I The next order of business was consideration of the minutes of April 18, 1977. Conrad Heede stated that he felt that the paragraph concern- ing recommendation for appointments to the Board of Adjustments did not accurately reflect the discussion of that matter. A detailed discussion of the paragraph and proposed corrections followed. Conrad Heede made a motion to approve the minutes with the following correction to the paragraph in question: The next order of business was for the Board of Zoning Adjustments to consider recommen- dations concerning Board appointments to the City Council-. Board members agreed that those recommendations should be determined by the Chairman after informal consultation with members, rather than being discussed in the presence of Board Members who were candidates for reappointment. The motion was seconded by Jesse Woods. Ayes: Heede, Woods, Spencer and Buckner Nays: None Conrad Heede then made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by James Buckner.
