HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-04-24STATE OF TEXAS I COUNTY OF TARRANT I CITY OF GRAPEVINE I - The Board of Zoning Adjustments met on this the 24th day of April, 1978 at 12:00 noon with the following persons in attendance: James Buckner Acting Chairman Jerry Spencer Member Charles Cox Member Jesse Woods Member Shirley Armstrong Secretary Guest in attendance included Mr. Howard Collins and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray. Acting Chairman James Buckner called the meeting to order. Mr. Buckner noted that the purpose of the meeting was to consider BZA Application # 78-1 submitted by Mr. Howard Collins, 1845 Anglers Plaza. He advised that Mr. Collins had requested a front yard variance of 15' for the purpose of an added closet and bath and a 27' front yard variance for the purpose of constructing a carport. The City Secretary read into the record the following three items: t (1) Letter from Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Highnote, 1825 Anglers Plaza, expressing opposition to the request. (2) Letter submitted by Mr. and Mrs. G. Richard Grant, 1846 Anglers Plaza, expressing opposition to the requested variance. (3) Petition signed by property owners in the Shorecrest Acres Addition expressing opposition to the request. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray; 1864 Chris Craft were in attendance and expressed opposition to the request because construction so close to the property line would not conform with the existing structures. Mr. Collins stated that he felt the letter to neighboring property owners was misleading because it did not mention the easement distance between the property line and the curb. After a lengthy discussion among both Board Members and guests, Member Jesse Woods made a motion to deny the entire application. The motion was seconded by Member Jerry Spencer and prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Buckner, Spencer, Woods and Cox Nays: None Absent: Harper There being no further business Member Jesse Woods made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Member Jerry Spencer and all in attendance voted aye. PASSED AND APPROVED on this the day of 197$. Shirley Armstrong City Secretary A
