SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST
FOR QUOTE FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A
COMMERCIAL SAUNA FOR THE REC
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for the
purchase and installation of a commercial sauna for the REC from Diamond Fitness.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase are available in account 171-46680-000-NE (Project
Expenditures) in an amount not to exceed $20,400.00.
BACKGROUND:
This project will take an existing office on the aquatic deck at The REC and convert it into
a dry sauna. This project was listed as a priority by the REC members on the member
survey.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations. Diamond Fitness submitted the lowest responsive and responsible quote
meeting specifications.
Diamond Fitness $20,400.00
Accurate Ind. $21 ,515.25
Ware Brothers $33,050.00
Staff recommends approval.
