SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
BASEBALL FIELD MATERIAL AND SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the renewal of an annual contract with Master Turf
Products and Services, Inc. for the purchase of baseball field material, products and
services.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in account 174-74015-055 (General Fund/Recreation Facilities
Maintenance/Parks Maintenance) in the estimated amount of$25,000.
BACKGROUND:
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local Government
Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (A) (7) (A). Master Turf Products and
Services, Inc. is the sole provider of the Master Seal products. Council approved Master
Turf Products and Services, Inc. as a sole source vendor and a one-year contract with
four optional renewals on March 1, 2011.
This request is to renew an annual contract for the purchase of infield soil turf mixture
and conditioner at the City owned baseball and softball fields. The material will be
ordered on an as-needed basis to recondition the baseball and softball fields and
replace infield material. If approved, this contract would be the second of four renewals.
Staff recommends approval.
