SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
2014 MACK DUMP TRUCK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution for the purchase of a 2014 Mack
GU713 dump truck from Grande Truck Center through an Interlocal Agreement for
Cooperative Purchasing with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC).
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 325-48910-535-13-0020
(Capital Equipment/Machinery Purchase Fund/Motor Vehicles) for the amount not to
exceed $138,039.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal Agreement for
Cooperative Purchasing with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Grande Truck
Center. The Fleet Services staff reviewed the contract for specification compliance and
pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing for
meeting the needs of the City. The Cooperative Purchasing Agreement satisfies all
bidding requirements under the Texas Local Government Code.
The Public Works Department received approval to purchase a 2014 Mack GU713
dump truck to replace a unit on the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement List in the
FY2013 Budget. This equipment is equivalent in replacement values and is dominant in
our fleet.
Staff recommends approval.

the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Houston-Galveston Area Council ( - ), a regional planning
commission, i lifi purchasing cooperative program as authorized by Section
271.102 of the Local Government Code; and

for Cooperative Purchasing with and i s to utilize established contracts
meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements; an
H-GAC has established a contract i th Grande Truck r under
contract number HT1 1-12, Medium and y Trucks and Truck Bodies, and
e City of Grapevine, Texas has a need to urch ase a 2014 Mack
713 dump truck o replace an old unit for the Public Works Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true correct and
are incorporated her in as if i in their entirety.
