HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2010-014 RESOLUTION NO. 2010-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO DECLARE AN EXCEPTION TO THE NORMAL BID PROCEDURE FOR THE REPAIR OF TWO PUMPS AT THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a) (7) (D)to declare an exception to the normal bidding procedure for the repair of two pumps at the Water Treatment Plant; and WHEREAS, each pump must be dismantled in order to determine the replacement parts necessary for the repair; and WHEREAS, Pierce Pump Company, L.P. has had prior experience repairing pumps for the water treatment plant and has provided an estimate of the repairs needed. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes a purchase order be issued to Pierce Pump Company, L. P. to dismantle and repair the pumps for an estimated cost of$23,959.65. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to purchase the above stated pump repair from Pierce Pump Company, L.P. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of April, 2010.
