A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNAEE TO PURCHASE
VARIOUS VEHICLES FROM SAM PACK'S FORD AND
WESTWAY FORD AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of
Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a)and Section 252.041 (a)to solicit bids for the purchase
of vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Invitations to bid were issued to 14 vendors for the purchase of 11
vehicles with eight vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the lowest and most responsive bid on 10 vehicles was from Sam
Pack's Ford and the low bid on one vehicle was from Westway Ford.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of 10 vehicles from Sam Pack's Ford in the total amount of$255,385.00 and one vehicle
from Westway Ford in the total amount of $12,930.65 for a total expenditure of
$268,315.65.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to purchase the above stated vehicles from Sam Pack's Ford and Westway
Ford.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of April, 2010.
