Chairman Ratliff asked for a round of applause for ALL! The CVB learned in 2016 of an antique circa 1890 E. Van Winkle cotton gin in South Carolina, the owners needed to make space and would gift it to the CVB for the Cotton Ginner's House museum. Commercial freight shipping for an item of this weight and age of over 120 years old was out of the question, the CVB asked Museum Consultant Brad Dougher to go to South Carolina to carefully truck this valuable piece of history back to Grapevine. Tonight we recognize Brad Dougher for his care and expertise in retrieving this important piece. Mr. Dougher was called forward to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Foundation. Once the circa 1890 cotton gin was here, it was time for the restoration team to tune the gin up for another 120 plus years. The Grapevine Heritage Foundation recognized our Cotton Gin Team of Joe Luccioni, Chris Reyher, Bruce Gleghorn, Dave Aungst, John Bush and our CVB Maintenance Manager Keith Nolley whose experience with historic structures got the cotton gin into the ginner's house. Chairman Ratliff said the Foundation thanked the team and Keith for their appreciation of heritage. After 25 years of service with Grapevine's Dirty Dozen, Doug Brawner announced his retirement.
