The next meeting of the Grapevine Historic Preservation Commission will be held at 6:00 pm on February 28, 2018 in the Council Chambers 2nd Floor, Grapevine City Hall, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051 In accordance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.001 et seq acts of the 1993 Texas Legislature, the Grapevine Historic Preservation Commission agenda was prepared and posted on the 19th day of January 2018 at 5:00 p.m. David Klempin Historic Preservation Officer Scott Williams �— Director of Development Services/Building Official HPC 01.24.18 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas, with the following members present to wit: Sean Shope Chairman Ashley Anderson Commissioner Eric Gilliland Commissioner Chuck Voelker Commissioner Ted Ware Commissioner Jason Parker Commissioner Alternate Paul Slechta City Council Liaison Monica Hotelling Planning & Zoning Liaison The above commissioners constituted a quorum with Commissioner(s) Vick Cox and Margaret Telford absent. With the following city staff present: Paul W. McCallum Executive Director, Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Matthew Boyle City Attorney, City of Grapevine David Klempin Historic Preservation Officer Mary Bush Historic Preservation Secretary CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME Chairman Sean Shope welcomed all and called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. Chairman Shope announced preservationist and great Grapevinian, Attorney Izak Gregory had passed on, he asked all to take a moment in remembrance of him. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Historic Preservation Commission under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Commission is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. January 24 HPC\Minutes\2018 1 HPC 01.24.18 TRAINING SESSION Chairman Shope introduced Emergency Management Coordinator Matt Feryan of the City of Grapevine. Mr. Feryan said he had attended school in California and then advanced his education here at the University of North Texas. Mr. Feryan spoke on the XnoWhat2Do Think. Prepare. Act." campaign to raise self- awareness, for being prepared with an emergency plan in place, when faced with a crisis. There are a series of special agencies to work through when facing damage to historic structures. He asked all to take out their cell phones and log on to the KaHoot.it website to test how much information you know and understand when faced with a crisis. The 25 questions enforced proper guidelines for tornado watch, high winds, flash flood water, terrorism, chemical spills, mosquito protection and pet care. Mr. Feryan also distributed copies of the Texas Emergency Management, Partner Agency: Texas Historical Commission, a KnoWhat2Do handbook and a goody bag of assorted information and products to each commissioner. WORK SESSION Chairman Shope called on staff to begin the Work Session.
