SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE TO PURCHASE VETERINARY SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the multiple award of an informal
request for quote to purchase veterinary services from Family Pet Clinic of
Grapevine and Northwest Animal Hospital for the Police Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 100-42200-209-005
(Animal Services—Operating Supplies) for an estimated amount of
$20,000.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for veterinary services such as sterilization and rabies
vaccination of animals available for adoption at Grapevine Animal
Services.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three
vendors submitted quotations. Family Pet Clinic of Grapevine and
Northwest Animal Hospital submitted the lowest responsive and
responsible quotes meeting specifications. The agreements are for one
year.
Staff recommends approval.
