SUBJECT: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS
The list of Boards and Commissions appointments is attached for your review.
Also attached are copies of the letters that will be sent to the applicants that were
appointed, not appointed, re -appointed or not re -appointed as the case may be.
Each sub -committee had some special circumstances that are resolved on the
attached listing. In the group that included Mayor Pro -Tem Ware and Council
Members Spencer and Stewart, the third spot on the Senior Citizens' Advisory
Board is vacant. The sessions ended with the intent to appoint Leon Leal to this
board, however, he is now being appointed to the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board.
The appointment of Howard Hallman from Alternate to Full Member on the
Building Board of Appeals will result in John Rath's removal from this board.
This move is being made due to Mr. Rath's poor attendance record over this past
year.
The group that included Council Members Freed, Johnson and Wilbanks had
contemplated the shift of one member from the Heritage Foundation to the Golf
Advisory Board. That shift did not occur and Jerry Pittman will remain on the
Heritage Foundation.
As we discussed in the sub -committee meetings, the Boards and Commissions
handbook is going to be revised this year and will be coming to Council for
consideration.

appointment to the «Board» at the City Council meeting of June 15, 2004.
«Depthead» will be in contact with you concerning your responsibilities, meeting times,
etc., as well as provide you a copy of the City of Grapevine Boards and Commissions
handbook. Your appointment will expire in 2006 and your attendance at all board
meetings is necessary to assist in guiding the City's future.
Enclosed you will find a Request for Confidentiality form. Please read the form carefully
and determine which option you would like to select. Appointed officials are required by
statute to make their choice in writing not later than 14 days after their appointment by
the City Council, if you do not want your home address and phone number listed on the
Board roster. This form must be returned to my office no later than June 29, 2004.
