SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE FOR FIBER CONDUIT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for fiber conduit from Terry -burin Company for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 177-48870-101-002-2015
(Fiber Optic- Underground Equipment) for an amount not to exceed
$25,875.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for innerduct conduit used for installing fiber optic cable
as part of the fiber project.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal
bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000.
Three vendors submitted quotations. Terry -burin Company submitted the
lowest responsive and responsible quote meeting specifications.

Georgia Underground $26,140
Datatech Electronics, Inc. $31,875
Staff recommends approval.
