I E North Texas Employer Health Plan Cooperative • Grapevine Chamber partners with United Healthcare to create the North Texas Employer Health Plan Cooperative. • 22 Counties are included in the NTEHP allowing for a larger association plan. We have invited over 128 Chambers within the region to participate, with 36 signed up to date. • This was made possible by Association Health Plan rules issued by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) in July 2018. The effective coverage date for the new North Texas Employer Health Plan Cooperative as open enrollment for groups began on November 1. • The opportunity for this new flexibility is due to an Executive Order issued last fall by the White House that allows for the creation of Association Health Plans for small employers with 50 or fewer employees on a regional group basis. Those regulations were finalized in late June, using the efforts of the Lubbock Chamber who actively urged and provided input into this new rule. • This allows our small businesses the opportunity to purchase plans that NORTH TEXAS have been formerly only available to businesses with 100+ employees.
