SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR THE TASER
WARRANTY PLAN
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of an annual contract for the Taser
warranty plan with Axon Enterprises, Inc. for the Police Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 117-43465-209-004
(Miscellaneous Equipment Maintenance/Crime Control Prevention District
Fund) for an annual amount of $19,055.
BACKGROUND: This annual warranty renewal is for 100 Taser devices purchased in
previous years.
The Police and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental
specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract
would provide the best service and pricing for meeting the needs of the
City. The contract was for an initial one-year period with four, one-year
optional renewals. If approved, this will be for the third renewal option.
Staff recommends approval.
