MINUTES
The Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors met in Regular Session
on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Great Wolf Lodge, 100 Great Wolf
Drive, DFW Airport, Texas with the following persons in attendance:
Joe Szymaszek Chairman
Dan Weinberger Board Member
Cynthia Blankenship Board Member
Mark Terpening Board Member
Debi Meek Board Member
Constituting a quorum, with the following liaisons and staff members present:
Sharron Spencer
Bruno Rumbelow
Paul W. McCallum
Lindy Bell
Absent:
Council Liaison
City Manager
Executive Director
Assistant to the Executive Director
Keith Spinden/Board Member
Iain Scouller/Board Member
Special guests attending included Mayor William B. Tate and members of the City of
Grapevine City Council.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Szymaszek called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by Dan Weinberger, seconded by Mark Terpening to approve the minutes from
the November 15, 2018 meeting prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Szymaszek, Terpening, Weinberger, Blankenship, Meek

NEW BUSINESS
Introduction of New Staff
Mr. McCallum introduced staff members new to the CVB since December 2017. They
included Molly Self, Joe Thompson, Paola Bowman, Emily Adams, Liz Mullis, Micah
Rogers, Bill Young, Derrick Moss and Whitney Stockstill.
No action taken by the Board.
At 7:25 p.m. Chairman Szymaszek suspended the Board Meeting.
At 8:15 p.m. Chairman Szymaszek resumed the Board Meeting.
Legends of Grapevine Tourism and Hospitality Award
Mr. McCallum announced the Class of 2019 Don Bigbie Legends of Grapevine Tourism
and Hospitality award recipient, Mr. Bill Davis, responsible for bringing Grapevine
Vintage Railroad to Grapevine allowing Grapevine to be the historic City it is. Mr. Davis
will be honored at a ceremony in February as set forth in the criteria for the award.
Staff Awards
Mr. McCallum presented a Directors Award to JoLynn Green, Accountant III, Rookie of
the Year award to Molly Self, Festivals Assistant, Unsung Hero award to Codi Missimo,
National Sales Manager, Joey Wilkins Can Do award to John Smith, Convention Center
Manager and Employee of the Year award to Scott Baker, Creative Marketing Manager.
No action taken by the Board.
There being no further business to come before the board a motion by Dan Weinberger,
seconded by Mark Terpening to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p.m. prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Szymaszek, Terpening, Weinberger, Blankenship, Meek
