SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF RFB 481-2019 FOR THE BEAR
CREEK PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE PROJECT DOG PARK
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of Request for Bid RFB
481-2019 for the Bear Creek pedestrian bridge Dog Park project to North
Rock Construction for the Parks and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 121-48850-312-020-
170001-0 (Improvements other than Buildings/Dog Park) for an amount
not to exceed $86,227.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the Bear Creek pedestrian bridge installation at the
Dog Park.
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid
advertisement was posted in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram on November
8 and 15, 2018. The RFB was issued through the City eBid system with
998 invitations sent out through the eBid procurement system. Five bids
were received. The bid was opened electronically and publicly on
November 30 at 2 pm.
Based on the evaluation of the bid by the Parks and Recreation and
Purchasing staff, it was determined that North Rock Construction
submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid.
Staff recommends approval.
