SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE FOR HEATING AND A/C SYSTEMS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for heating and A/C systems from Smart Penguin A/C & Heating for
the Parks and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 119-43355-312-003
(Recreation Facilities Maintenance) for an amount not to exceed $38,000.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is to install air conditioning and heating in the restrooms at
the Vineyards Campground.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal
bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000.
Three vendors submitted quotations with one being a no -bid. Smart
Penguin A/C & Heating submitted the lowest responsive and responsible
quote meeting specifications.

Gentry Air Conditioning $42,550
Coventry & Gattis, Inc. No Bid
