SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF A REQUEST FOR QUOTE
TO PURCHASE AN EXHAUST REMOVAL SYSTEM FROM
CLEAN AIR CONCEPTS FOR FLEET SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the and of an informal request for quote to
purchase an exhaust removal system from Clean it Concepts for Fleet Services.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase are available in account 100-48860-108-1 (Fleet Machinery and
Equipment) in the amount not to exceed $31,886.
BACKGRO U N D.-
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations.
Quotes received directly from Fleet Services were:
Clean Air Concepts $31,886
AirCleaning Technologies $36,900
Alpha Industrial Supply $52,950
This award is fort purchase and installation of an exhaust removal system, providing
six high temperature duct, hoses, nozzles, blower and attachments to safely remove
vehicle exhaust gases from the fleet service bays to provide clean and healthy working
conditions for fleet technicians. This is similar to the systems installed in the firehouses
ands es the same purpose.
Of the three quotes received, Clean Air Concepts submitted the lowest quote meeting
specifications.
Staff recommends approval.
