SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SUPPLIES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of an annual contract for emergency
medical supplies with Bound Tree Medical, LLC for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are currently available in account 100-42225-210-
006 (EMS Expenses & Supplies) for an estimated annual amount of
$137,000.00.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
emergency medical supplies on an as -needed basis for the Fire
Department to equip five mobile intensive care units. The Fire Department
staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for specification compliance
and determined that this annual contract would provide the best product,
service and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
Purchases will be made and in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with the City of Cedar Hill, Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Section 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter
791.
The City of Cedar Hill, Texas awarded an agreement extension for
Emergency Medical Supplies with Bound Tree Medical, LLC on January
24, 2017. The pricing received from Bound Tree Medical, LLC is fair and
reasonable. The contract was for an initial one-year period with three,
one-year optional renewals. If approved, this will be for the second
renewal available.
Staff recommends approval.
