SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF A SIGN PRINTER
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of the purchase of a sign printer from A.
Visacom for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are currently available in 174-43301-415-093
(Transportation Infrast. Maint.) for an amount not to exceed $16,709.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for a new sign printer to be used as part of Traffic
Operations' sign maintenance program. The existing unit is 12 years old
and replacement parts are no longer available.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. A. Visacom
submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.
A. Visacom $16,709
Graphic Horizon's $18,365
Roadrunner Traffic $18,948
Staff recommends approval.
