SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR A REQUEST FOR QUOTE, WITH RENEWALS, FOR
AQUATIC MAINTENANCE SERVICE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for a request for quote, with renewals,
for aquatic maintenance services with Century Pool Service for the Parks
and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are currently available in 100-44540-312-005
(Professional Services) for an annual estimated amount of $40,000.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
swimming pool maintenance services for City aquatic facilities and
fountains operated by the Parks and Recreation Department on an as -
needed basis. Century Pool Service will assist with sanitization needs to
comply with maintaining public health standards and provide scheduled
cleaning of pools and fountains. These services include vacuuming of
pool walls and floors, scrubbing and brushing, removing debris and
complete any normal repair issues that might arise.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Century Pool
Service submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.

Aloha Pool Services $34,595
Staff recommends approval
