SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF A COLD PLANER/TILLER
ATTACHMENT TOOL
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a cold planer/tiller
attachment tool from Holt Texas for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in the Storm Drainage Fund (116)
for a total amount not to exceed $24,170.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for a cold planer/tiller attachment that will be used for
several purposes including milling, grading, and earth moving for various
jobs. This attachment tool is a key component to get full use of the City's
recently purchased high flow skid loader tractors.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with Sourcewell as allowed by Texas Local Government Code,
Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and a contract was awarded to Holt
Texas. The Public Works Department and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for specification compliance and pricing and determined that the
contract would provide the best service and pricing for meeting the needs
of the City.
Staff recommends approval
