HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 17 - Submersible PumpMEMOTO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: APRIL 2, 2019 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW SUBMERSIBLE PUMP RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a submersible pump from Precision Pump Systems for the Public Works Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are currently available in 200-43370-534-000 (W/W Treatment Infrastructure Maintenance) for an amount not to exceed $21,875. BACKGROUND: The purchase of a 60 HP Homa submersible pump from Precision Pump Systems is needed for Denton Creek Lift Station. The current pump has exceeded its useful life and must be replaced. The replacement pump meets the specifications required for proper draw down of incoming raw water and meets the desired pump curve. This allows for proper station functionality and prevention of sanitary sewer overflows. Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Precision Pump Systems submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications. Precision Pump Systems $21,875 Pump Solutions $24,596 FCX $27,879 Staff recommends approval. KM/LW
