SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF FLOORING
FOR PLEASANT GLADE POOL
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase and installation of
flooring for Pleasant Glade Pool from Life Floor for the Parks and
Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are currently available in account 174-74015-312-
070 (Park Maintenance Projects) for a total amount not to exceec
$46,506.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is to replace the existing flooring in restrooms, changing
rooms, the main entry, and the large area between the pool and building
that is damaged and faded from the outdoor elements at Pleasant Glade
Pool. Life Floor, the recommended flooring is built to endure the outdoor
elements and reduce the issue of the walking surface becoming too hot.
Life Floor is skid resistant and safer for the patrons entering and exiting
the restrooms and pool.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The National Purchasing Partners (NPPGov) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government
Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Life
Floor. The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
