SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF MICRO -SURFACING SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of micro -surfacing
services from Intermountain Slurry Seal, Inc. for the Parks and Recreation
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 119-43355-312-007
(Recreation Facilities Maintenance) for an amount not to exceed $42,083.
BACKGROUND: This purchase will be used for micro -surfacing services for the parking lot
at Meadowmere Park. The miro-surfacing is for the main parking lot where
Altitude H2O operated last year. This process should add 8-10 years more
life to the parking lot.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal
Cooperative Agreement with the City of North Richland Hills, Texas as
allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas
Government Code, Chapter 791.
The City of North Richland Hills, Texas solicited bids on RFB No. 15-020
from which they awarded a contract to Intermountain Slurry Seal, Inc. The
Purchasing and Parks and Recreation staffs reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and determined that this contract would provide
the best product, service and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
